50 Ohm Dummy load Construction Idea

Specifications of the resistor used for the RF Termination:-

250 Watts, 50Ω

N connector used

RF is Terminated in this flange mount RF rated resistor

I brought a used RF resistor was bought for a few dollars using the Internet, an RFP 250N50.

Other models could be used. A new one could be brought at a further expense. Aliexpress and eBay are places to look for RF terminations, salvaged and new. New devices can also be brought here:- http://www.richardsonrfpd.com

Holes were drilled in the aluminum and copper.
Metric threads were cut. Oil was dispensed from a can of ‘canola oil spray’ (made to be used for cooking) which was used as lubricant for making threads with taps.

To use for a longer period, a big heatsink could be added.

Various sizes of metric thread fasteners were used in the project. Selection of the right heat transfer compound is important, to keep the termination temperature in specification.

I don’t know the VSWR for various frequencies for design. An improvement could be a micro strip for microwave frequencies.
